You will not use the web site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Scotland and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

Weights

All weights shown on our web site are approximate. This is due to the nature of the product and the fact that no two cuts are the same. Weights shown are always fresh meat, net of packaging and shall never vary more than plus/minus 10% of the weight stated in our shop.

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Fill your shopping basket as you browse by clicking on the items you wish to buy. After you have made your selection, click on 'Order' and you will be asked for your delivery and payment details in order to complete the transaction.

Shipping And Handling We offer a “Store-to-Door” delivery service. Two bands of delivery charges apply, depending on where the goods are sent.

Local delivery (within 15 mile radius of The Store, Foveran) £7.50
Nationwide delivery £13.50
Some orders may carry a free delivery service

For orders to a non-mainland UK address the delivery charge will be determined by the weight and destination of the order.

Please make sure we have the full name and address, including postcode of the recipient and please include daytime telephone number.

Please make sure that should no one be at the delivery address, a specified place to leave the goods has been stated. The Store cannot accept responsibility for deliveries that are refused by the recipient, or where the carrier cannot deliver due to incorrect addressing.

We are unable to accept responsibility for the actions of our carriers.

Delivery Schedule On receipt of your order we will notify you of a delivery date. We aim to despatch most orders to the delivery address that you supply within 2-3 days of receipt. However, due to the nature of the product, delivery times can sometimes be a little longer. If an item is temporarily unavailable for any reason, then you will be notified and given the opportunity to cancel your order or chose alternative items.

Standard deliveries are made between 9am and 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday.

Orders placed after 9am Wednesday will not be delivered until the following week.

Saturday deliveries are available. Please contact us for details and prices.

All orders will be packed in chilled, insulated boxes and delivered by either our staff (for local deliveries only) or a reputable national courier service.

Back Orders All products are subject to availability. If one of our food items is not in stock we will contact you to advise of any delay and take instructions accordingly. You will have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. We reserve the right to substitute products of equal or higher quality and value in our hampers should the need arise.

Tax Charges VAT at 17.5% is included on standard rated goods delivered to the UK.

Credit Card Security The secure server software used by The Store encrypts your credit card details, name and address, by using the latest secure technology (128 bit SSL encryption), to guarantee your credit card details remain scrambled whenever they pass over the web. Once our order has been processed your credit card details are permanently removed from the web site.

We strictly adhere to the requirements of the data protection legislation in the UK. The Store gathers information from users of this web site automatically when you decide to provide us with information, for example, when you place an order on The Store web site. We only use this information to process your orders and keep you up to date of new products and special promotions. The Store does not sell, trade or rent this data with third parties.

Returns Policy The Store take every precaution to ensure all goods supplied are in perfect condition, however, should any product not meet your expectations, please return it unused and in the original packaging within five working days. We will either exchange the items or refund the price of the goods. Please note that when returning an item, the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us. We strongly recommend that you obtain insurance and proof of posting.

We cannot exchange food or beverages if they have been opened and handled. This does not affect your statutory rights.

All claims for breakage must be brought to our attention in writing or by telephone within three days of receipt.

In the event of non-arrival please contact us within 28 days of the expected delivery date and quote your reference number.

Cancellation

All cancellations must be in writing and e-mailed to orders@thestore scotland.com or faxed to 01358 788199 before 5.30pm on the day of ordering.
